- Size? from the measurements I've read online, it seems I'm between a size 1 and 2, and have zero hope of actually getting to try both sizes prior to purchasing it, size 1 might be a bit tight in the chest/shoulder/biceps but otherwise seems ok lengthwise, and size 2 just seems a bit too long on the sleeve and body although chest/shoulders/biceps would probably fit better then on size 1, any comments or suggestions?

- Where to kop? Should I wait for a good one here/sufu/sz, or should I just try a japan proxy, I've seen that they run about 2k in Japan but have seen some on sale for around 1.2-1.5k too, so not sure if the extra few hundred is worth it vs koping one on the boards for around 1k although we all know waiting kinda sucks, any tips?

- Which style to kop? I like the racer, the jut neck and the moto, but something draws me more towards the jut neck although I cant seem to find good pics of it worn with the collar down, folded or spread out and really doubt I'd wear it with a standing collar all the time, or at least not when unzipped, any thoughts?

Some tips, suggestions, comments or personal experiences on this topic would be greatly appreciated.

I tried on a couple RO jackets in NY. I'm normally an xs in things, and the xs was pretty damn tight. I actually really liked how the medium fit me, it was loose and sort of drapey but still slimming. So I guess don't be afraid of buying it a little bit too big.

Thanks for that, and to some point I agree since a looser chest and shoulders isnt a big deal for me, but my main problem is the sleeves, I mean on RO jackets they usually have ribbed cuffs so even if the sleeve is really long it will bunch up somewhat neatly around the forearm area but on the julius jackets i've seen the cuffs are either zippered or snapped at the cuffs and this doesnt help in holding up the sleeve and usually goes past my knuckles which I really dont like or want in a jacket, make sense?

Whats your height/weight like? since I've never tried an RO jacket eirther so it would help to know this as a reference for sizing.

I'm having a problem understanding my measurements. Measured by a tailor, I was told my shoulders are 17.5 and my chest is 34.5. I measured the pit to pit of an AmApp tee that fits me perfectly, no stretch, and it's like 17, so everything seems to add up. The shoulder seams of the tee are more like 16.5, but that must be ok.

I notice that most clothing has a larger p2p than shoulder. Is this why my shirts and stuff almost never seem to fit right? I mean, **** tents out on me so bad. Is it unusual to have a p2p equal to your shoulder?

This probably doesn't seem like a big deal, but it's kinda nice to maybe finally figure something out.

I lack cohesion within my personal style.

I am drawn to all kinds of different looks and profiles. I realize that to some degree this could be benificial, but at this point I don't know how best to blend the looks and profiles to come up with a look that is cohesive and more importantly within my means.

In times past I have tried to acquire basics but after a while I tire of them, or my perception of fit changes.

I am not looking to establish ONE solitary look for myself by any means, but for the most part I would like to start over.

Here are the handful of pieces I have now that I wish to keep, could some of you suggest some additional pieces that are affordable or worth investing in that would give me a sense of cohesion as well as wiggle room

JtG Button Down
Red MjKrell Chambray
Blue Koto Chambray
Fink grey crewneck sweater
White J Crew OCBD
KMW Rockers
Levis 511 khaki/navy
Brown Longwings
Navy Chucks

I have been here for a while, and used the forum for ideas etc. I am not looking for fashion advice like I said. I just want to look appropriately modern, yet not like a douche.

I really need outerwear advice, but overall advice would be appreciated too.

I just kind of feel like I am in a rut.

sorry to make a colin powell gif-worthy post but

No. Varvatos makes some nice looking boots, but those are not one of them. If you're looking for casual + boots, just go ahead with desert boots. There are lots of variations out there, from Merona to American Eagle to Clarks so there's pretty much an entire spectrum of prices and styles.

So are there any real current day military gear that is wearable on the streets (not vintage, only current military issue)? Alot of stuff here is 'military inspired'... but is there anything you guys know of that is worth looking into such as shirts, boots, etc that one could wear and pull off without actually: 1) looking like a pretender, 2) being too bulky since I assume most of that stuff is not too slim fit?

^^^

They still make BDU's which are good pants, with a typical fit.

They make great shorts too

pair of boots?

for outerwear i think the basics would be: m65, pea coat, toggle coat (will be very big this season), varsity, a leather
