I like it, because it's a bit different. I think it's fairly simple. Hard to tell the shape from the picture, but I like the general design. Elastic doesn't bother me. Is elastic supposed to be hopelessly obsolete and/or uncool?

What brand is it?

The maharishi jacket isn't bad. Maybe a different color like mustard or ivory would look better.

I wasn't going to comment on the Adidas sneaks, but... Not so bad style. The color on those is just way fugz. Sorry to say. Ummm, nice sisal rug though.

Weejuns: good idea or bad idea?

Also, what color belt goes with burgundy shoes (since they don't make brown weejuns anymore)

The Denim Bar (denimbaronline.com) should be getting a shipment of APC jeans in soon; they offer forum members a 20% discount on all purchases. I don't know what shipping is like to Canada, though. Their customer service is pretty spectacular though, and they're willing to talk you through whatever questions you may have. Also, the store stocks a lot more than is listed on their Web site, so it definitely helps to call in and just talk.

Q: Anyone know where I can find some ideas on dress (both dress and workwear) in the 1920's? Pics/weblinks?

Levi 501 STF question (the regular basic kind):

I have read the archives but still am a bit unsure about the sizing. If i get the pre-shrunk 501 I am a 32-32, though with other things like Chinos I am usually a 31-32.

I like my jeans to fit in the length so that the bottom of the leg just touches the floor when I am barefoot. I do not cuff them.

The label says size up 1" from the waist (making 33") and 3 inches from the length (making it a 35", which they do not make).

So should I try 32-34 or 32-36?

I have noticed with some jeans that the stretching causes sagging in the waist and the legs to drag after awhile, as I do not wash them often. But I do not want them to be too short after the initial shrinkage.

Will the 34 length be too short after washing? Or should I get the 36, and if they are too long I could get them hemmed?

Also, what is the biggest difference between STF and pre-shrunk (the darkest ones), after the STF have shrunk.

Thanks,
Matthew.

So, I got my APCs NS on December 28th and I've been wearing them since. My friend, however, stretched my right leg side so now my right leg looks looser then the left. Do I just soak them and would they return to normal? Would it affect the aging process? HELP!

I have a dilemma regarding 2 possible pea coats I wanna get. One is a 34S and another is a 38S. DO the sizes often reflect the chest size? (like 34S = 34 inch chest?) Because the 38S has a 42" chest area, and I measured my chest and it's 38" at best (37.5 average). However, the 38S has long enough should to sleeve seam of 23.5 inches. I measured 23 inches so I think it's good enough. But for the 34S, it's sleeve measures 22 inches, will that be a problem? Also, the armpit to armpit measure is 19.5 inches, I'm not sure if that is half of the chest width, is it? And the shoulder seam to seam is 16 inches, I get around 17-18inches for my measurement on that. I'm not sure if that will be a problem too, bleh. So to sum up, which would be better for me to buy right now. the 38S with more than enough chest area and enough sleeve seam length, but I'm not sure if that is too much chest area that won't make me look as sharp (and potentially be too big). Or the 34S with the potential to actually fit slim/snug on me, but if it's too tight, I'm screwed (as well as having sleeves that are 1-2 inches shorter than I expected. 34S
