Anyone watching The Peripheral on Amazon Originals? It's really ******* good.

It's really good. Love all the distinct accents (Cho Chang as an adult using her real Scottish accent)

I'd be down for an R rated Wonder Woman if you know what I mean...
Otherwise, yeah, no reason for anymore standalones.
Aquaman should never have been made, and standalone Flash seems like a bore-fest. They should be ensemble or nothing.
Now......give me my Ryan Reynolds Green Lantern 2.
I was promised one in the closing credits.

Wait so they're just bailing on every one of the main characters of the Justice League (except Batman)...?

I'll happily take another season of Peacemaker but uhh.....those all of their valuable properties (except Batman)? Maybe the well is just too poisoned to keep going without a huge rework (I'm definitely not interested in the current state of any of those properties), but man. What's still on the table?

Wonder Woman was a genuinely good superhero movie. The second one was... not. Shazam was silly, but fun. Aquaman was almost aggressively stupid, but still fun, mostly because Momoa is damn charming. Black Adam was just dull and bad. Flash seems like a bad idea, and made worse by Ezra Miller's serious psychological and legal problems.

Bottom line- Gunn really has a huge pile of **** to turn into something not ******.

Read the original article. The rumor is that Gunn and the new leadership want to start fresh. With a clean slate. Consider it a full reboot.

This doesn't mean they are dropping the characters. They will still make Superman and Wonder Woman movies for example. They just won't have any ties to the Snyderverse. I think it's the right call to be honest. It's all so convoluted at the moment and just wasn't working.

That's not to say I am happy about all the implications. The first WW was fantastic and SHAZAM! was a fun interpretation of the character. It would suck to drop them both even if it leads to better things down the line.

The article does suggest that the recent The Batman and its sequel/s will likely remain untouched. It was its own thing and highly successful so that's not surprising.

I'm fine with "aggressively stupid" in a comic book movie as long as it's fun. Most of the DC movies have been relentlessly un-fun.

At least Gunn mostly does fun.
