Human woman but her genes mixed up with Kree in an explosion and she gained flight, super strength and a couple of others from the original Captain Marvel nega bands (he died of cancer). She fought Rogue (she was a member of Magneto's Brotherhood of Evil Mutants) and her powers as well as memories and psyche were permanently absorbed. As a result Rogue turned good and sought asylum with the Xmen. Carol was experimented on by aliens and gained cosmic powers and called herself Binary. She encountered Rogue at the xmen mansion and literally punched her to the moon. Can't remember how but she powered down back to her previous power levels except she could absorb energy as well as expend it. Hitting her with energy just gives her more power so she is one of the most powerful super heroes out there. Eventually regained most of her memories and...well... the end

I thought the trailer was about as bland and boring as you could ask for.

I agree with this comment on it. “Yea I kind of groaned at the stolen memories angle in that trailer. Was hoping for a confident and brash fighter pilot push from Danvers and Brie. Something along the lines of Starbuck from Galactica, but not really sure that will be the case. Crossing fingers as more footage is shown later.”
