So slow on producing a female movie DC got there first. So brave of Marvel. *eye roll*

The only thing that I don’t look forward to for Captain Marvel is everyone pretending anyone gave a crap about her until now.

My hope is they’ll finally fix/create a character that actually makes Captain Marvel interesting and not just a total boring mess.

That's the way of comics. Characters can linger for a long time as second or third rate properties and then a good writer or popular run brings the character to the fore. I wouldn't call Iron Man third tier - maybe he was second+ - but he was not the marquee character for Marvel the way he is now until the movies really took off. And Daredevil was minor until Frank Miller's run, etc. This version of Captain Marvel would be lucky to be called a third rate title, but if the movies are good, no reason she can't become popular.

I dunno, I thought she was interesting the way Bendis wrote her, particularly her relationship with Jessica Jones. (Alias, which was amazing..through that one comic about the newspaper [The Pulse?]...through the recent Jessica Jones comic]) and then maybe some of Hickman’s stuff. I was down for her own title, but it seemed kind of bland, IIRC. I think it just depends on the writer, but didn’t the character have fans?

Sure she has fans, but she’s not widely loved like Wonder Woman is. It’s also felt for a number of years that Marvel is trying to hard to force her popularity. Which has in some ways backfired.

It doesn’t help that she’s gone through some downright character assasinations like in the recent Civil War 2 crossover event. She came out of that downright unlikeable.

Ha, yeah. Same with Iron Man, but they’re killing it with that one.

I’m interested to see how the movie turns out. The Guardians were an odd pick, almost completely unknown, and they did wonders with those guys. I just hope they can do something similar (and character-based) with Captain Marvel.

Where’s @wojt? We need his opinion on the clear SJW agenda being pushed forth by the magazine cover. :p

Supergirl. Man. You know, someone should tell them they’ve got Amy Adams. You don’t get the sense they know how lucky they are. They could get the right team, build a whole movie around her, and turn things around, I’ll bet.

Iron Fist Season 2 is surprisingly good. I have only watched a few episodes so maybe it will tank, but at this point in Season 1, it was clear the season was a POS (and it was) so I am optimistic the rest of season 2 will stay good.
Already, a high point is the fight choreography, alonh with the strong role for Coleen and what seems to be a good villain(s) (so far).

I have no idea wtf that is.

It's a Polish fantasy book series that got turned into extremely successful videos games, and now into a Netflix series.

The main character is a highly trained monster-hunting superhuman mutant.

So back to doing TV shows (sort of)...
