I believe the review embargo will be lifted today. It’s not some long drawn out process and no one in the industry is complaining about it.

The majority of quick takes that have been Tweeted out about the film have been positive. There’s been a fair amount of people who said they had issues with the film, but overall it’s good buzz.

Return of Skywalker is likely going to be enjoyable but safe. I don’t expect many big risks to be taken. Disney is trying to produce something here with broad appeal after witnessing the obsessive backlash some fans brought to the table with TLJ. I loved TLJ but don’t really blame them for this.

It’s going to be fun watching Wojt and Turk obsessively post YT reviews from dudes who pay their rent pumping out content meant to clickbait upset fans desperate for negative news about the franchise.

The real shills are those who get invited to the premieres! There’s nothing questionable or any bias at play with the guys paying their rent with YouTube channels that spend all their time pissing on Lucas Films.

I'm looking forward to seeing it if only from a completionist point of view. It's just a movie. It will maker serious coin for Disney who will hopefully put a little more thought into future movies.

It's 117 reviews from today's "diverse" (read: online shill) reviewers, who generally give better reviews than critics of yore. And every disney star wars movie has gone down from this point, not up.

It's enough.

After being **** on and called shills for the last couple years for daring to give TLJ positive scores I wouldn’t at all be surprised if we see movie critics take a harder eye to this one.

I’m seeing it Thursday night with a friend. want to absorb it while it’s still fresh and before everyone and their mothers have given their hot takes on it.

Rotten Tomatoes said it has added 600 independently verified critics over the past year as part of an ongoing push to support under-represented voices in film and TV criticism.

Of the new critics, 55% are women, 60% are freelancers and 10% publish reviews via YouTube, podcasts and other emerging avenues. The news comes a year after the digital brand said it was revamping its criteria for its “Tomatometer” gauge of sentiment in order to foster inclusion.
