I think this is highly dependent on the store. Madison Ave no doubt has a better selection. The stores in CHI, SF, or SEA, you are much better off online.

Newsweek's cover story this month is "The Science Behind Your Spending Addiction".

I thought it was sex addiction. In any case, have you ever read one of those Newsweek cover stories? Here's how they work: anecdotal intro, big claim that's supposed to be surprising, statistical evidence from a couple of uninteresting studies that have been covered elsewhere (ignoring, or at best glossing over, any flaws in those studies and any contradictory evidence), a few quotes from experts, back to story of person from anecdotal intro, big claim that's supposed to be enlightening while wrapping it all up. You're always better off just reading a news report on the studies.

Has anyone ever gone to the 3.1 Phillip Lim sample sale in NYC? It's coming up this week and I'm wondering if it's worthwhile.

Has anyone ever gone to the 3.1 Phillip Lim sample sale in NYC? It's coming up this week and I'm wondering if it's worthwhile.

I went last year and it's cool, prices were good (relatively speaking). I got there on the last day so not much for me and ended up not getting anything after all. I'm going to go tomorrow after work and hope for the best. I think pants and shirts were around 75-100 last year. A lot of stuff was in the 100-200 range though: jackets, vests, etc.
