An interesting thing happened to me this weekend: I bought my wife a pair of clearance-priced Paper Denim & Cloth jeans in size 28. (She normally takes a 27, but I figured that 28 was good enough for the price.) The style is 2-MOD RIGID; it's a totally dark, unwashed denim with bright yellow stitching that looks like it will break in very nicely once worn a bit. Anyway, here's the interesting bit: the jeans are several sizes too large on her, but fit me (albeit quite tightly - definitely not as much room in the crotch as I would like). I normally take a 31 in the men's GTO cut. What the heck is up with this? How on earth can I fit into a size 28 anything, let alone women's size 28 jeans?

Women's jeans are sized funny. A size 28 is about a size 6-8, and Paper Denim cuts large, so it's probably more like a woman's 8-10. I am a woman's size 10 (don't ask, lost a bet once), and I wear a 32 or 33 (mens) in PDC (albeit loosely - the 33s *very* much so), I would fit easily into a pair of PDC 31's,) so it's not that unusual that these jeans would fit you, albeit tightly. Maybe you should start to wear women's jeans? They are generally easier to find on sale

Are you sure about that? My wife takes a 27 in both Seven and Paper, and a size 4 or 6 - not crazy, oversized Gap clothes either - in bottoms sized that way. Her size 27 TRU cut Paper Denim jeans I can't even get my leg into.

Have you considered the possibility that it might just be mislabeled? Why don't you just exchange it for the right size.
