NYC Shopping for Wedding

I've been out of the NYC loop for nearly 7 years. But I'd like to take my brother-in-law shopping for his wedding. He set on a suit (not a tux) and so my plan already includes:

Shirt - Cego (I've used carl for 11 years.)
Tie - Drakes
Shoes - Leffot

I'd like some suggestions for either new shoes or tie places worth trying as well as a place to get him a nice OTR suit. This will be his first real suit, so someplace he will feel comfortable shopping and that will show a little patience would be ideal.

In that range I would suggest The Armoury. I popped in for the first time the other day when I was in the city, and I have to say they were super nice and accommodating. I'm a bit out of their size range, so the guy literally gave me the jacket of his back to try on (as it was MTM and we're approximately the same size) so I could see how it would look on me. All in all I went in and let them know my purchases were going to be later in the spring/summer (once the tax check rolls through) and they still spent about 30 min with me talking about their different makers and suppliers.

Shoes — can’t beat Leffot. Can also visit Carmina near Grand Central and the C&J shop.

Suits: Paul Stuart, Brooks Brothers. But there are many other places as well.

I'd second Paul Stuart...IMHO I find Brooks Brothers fits within the past 5 years awkward and overpriced when not on one of their big sales (MSRP $1100 per suit down to 2 for $1499 during biannual sales).

Also, Alden of Madison is just down the block from Paul Stuart, and I think has the full line in store to view

I'd also suggest hitting up Barney's for a large selection of quality OTR stuff like Canali or Isaia. I'd also see if the Ralph Lauren Store has a full section of the Purple Label stuff (although that will likely be in the solid $2K range, if thats in your budget)
