Mcqueen was a strange dude. I rememebr reading an interview he gave and one of his quotes was
"I was born with **** and I will die with ****". ******, was right. A big wad of **** was in his drawers after he hung himself.

High fashion is ment to be " high fashion" it's like college. Everyone has the right to go but it doesn't mean everyone can.
I think that's were I get the most ticked off. I don't have the money to spend on designer "x" but **** I can buy H&M's blantent knock off and look cool doing it. That's fucked ( to me). Now if there was a time period before something was released I wouldn't be so bitchy.
So if Designer " x" made a collection the knock off artists would have to wait a season or at least until designer "x' stuff shipped and began to sell.

deve- it's not far fetched for a brand to pay $24.00 a yard for things. I know where the fabric comes from and I will check but not disclose the price.
I will tell you I am looking at some Japanese Compact twills at 11.00 a yard not landed add about 30% in tax and shipping. It adds up.
I am not saying they pay that for everything but on select fabrics and yarns its common.

Best,
mauro

diffusion lines don't bother me at all. That's one way the designer can make money. Most collections do not make any money. I don't think any real Haute Couture Lines make money.
Diffusion makes money. cosmetics, eyewear, underwear stuff like that makes money.
A lot of the time the designer is designing that line as well.
I am sure a lot of don't like Versace but Gianni designed a diffusion line back in the day called " Istante" that **** was dope. It was his project and it showed. I think things like that are very cool. Just like RRL or even D&G.
I like Dsquared but come on a couple hundred dollars for a tee shirt. NO way. I think that's where a diffusion line makes sense. No one in their right mind should have to pay 200.00 + for a tee shirt. Even if it's hand beaded. That's just my opinion.

The diffusion line usally in some way plays back to the collection. It's priced so it's more obtainable but not priced for the "masses" . Fast fashion is for the "masses" and fashionestas a like.
Like I said before " nobody waits in line for a designers collection" people line up for fast fashion with the right name attached.

How is this bad? How is providing interesting looking items to a larger demographic a bad thing unless you're basically counterfeiting designers (i.e. Forever 21)? Considering H&M's numerous designer collaborations, they don't seem to be too maligned in the fashion industry.
