I imagine its a good time to go as the in store sales have finished, the leftovers will go back to the factory shops.

Before you go, check for annual holidays.

Virtually all the factories close down for a summer break at some time between late July and early August.

When I visited the shops in the first week of October 2009, they were closed the week before.

When I inquired about my shoe order from Pediware they said that the Alfred Sargent factory is closed for the first 2 week of August. G&G I believe is the same.

Last week in July & first week in August,
They are back on Monday the 9th August.

I'd been thinking of going to Northampton to get some shoes in future. Is it absolutely full of excellent retailers, or do you guys go to the factories?

Most of the manufacturers have a factory shop on the premises where you can pick up some bargains
R.E.Tricker is well worth a look.
