FNB, I liked the pic you had on the blue pinstripe shirt with the green tie. In many of the others seem that the shirt and the tie, have the same colours. Is this intentional? IMO the blue and pink check shirt would work very well with a tie with lots of brown (say with a mid grey flannel suit). What is your opinion on this:

Yes, the earlier shirts in this thread are my efforts to present the basic English approach to shirt/tie pairing. Some of the more recent ones are more advanced English taste and/or mine. I don't suggest it is universal but it does work on me and it gets the results I want.

Others need to find their own comfort level and what works for them for the purposes they want in the environment they operate in.
