Hey all - new to the forums here as I've just started buying designer clothes on ebay. Anyhow, just a few questions/observations/etc maybe you all can help out...

I have started buying mostly dress shirts on ebay...usually something like a D&G, RLPL, etc...nothing quite as expensive as Brioni etc but around $100-$150 for what normally retails at $350 or so. I also have found nice Boss black label items in the $40-$50 range. I have been a fan of Boss black label that I can get at bargain prices - I do realize the sentiments toward Boss on these forums

Anyhow, I only try to stick to those made in Italy if I can find them and have had no issues with them so far - I previously owned a number of black label dress shirts and have had no issues, although now realize they are more overpriced than some other brands people favor here so looking to broaden my horizons.

Couple questions - what is recommended for shirts on ebay in the $75-$125 range? I like the style of Zegna, D&G, RLPL, any others along these lines you can recommend? Also saw this ad just today for a shirt I liked and was wondering if it is reputable & if so a good deal?

Also - as for jeans, it seems harder to find bargains on ebay for new jeans - is this generally the case? I have a couple pair of Boss/Zegna jeans that I got deals on (but not too much off retail) that I'll loved - these good jeans brands to stick with? Also looked at some Helmut Lang as read some great reviews on here of those.

Anyways - thanks to the forum for the advice I've read so far.

First of all, welcome to SF. My suggestion is that you spend some time to use the search function and lurk around a bit. There is a lot of knowledge and opinions to be found here.

To try and answer some of your questions, I own some RLPL and Zegna shirts and like them. Mainly, because of fit issues, most shirts that I buy now are MTM Jantzen which can be had for about $60. People here seem to love or hate the Jantzen experience. The eBay shirt in your post seems legit and at a fair price, although not necessarily a "steal".

As far as jeans go, you might head over to the Streetwear and Denim subforum.

Finally, remember fit is KING, and most of us here on SF have made a lot of regrettable purchases by rushing into things with our new found knowledge. Take your time and some amazing deals will pop up on the Buying & Selling forum and on eBay.

sellers on B&S sell staple color RLPL and RLBL shirts for about $100, unless the type of shirt in that link is what you looking for.
have you check out T.M levin slim cut shirts? quality should be about the same as boss if not better, and they are usually on sale for about $50, and come in interesting colors and patterns

Do any shops in America carry T.M. Lewin slim cut shirts or are they bought online? I generally think T.M. Lewin's good value for money and have been having a most difficult time finding shirts outside Europe which fit properly.

Fifty dollars and a trip to the tailor's excellent.
