Please keep in mind that depending on the placement of the pockets, shortening the jacket could ruin it permanently...

so a longer coat is what I have always preferred.

I do know have some jackets that fall right at my bum and to me they look to short although I know they are not. Why don't you get it tailored in the sleeve length and wear it a bit before you decide.

I also think the length is fine...but sleeves need shortening!

Well, I'm having it shortened about 1 inch. Will post pics when it's complete. Since they are not flap pockets, I think that balance issue will be less striking.

Waist suppression: the narrower shoulder and silo. avoids the corset appearance, or half circles, that can happen with wider shoulder stances and waist suppression.

I thought if you can feel the bottom of the jacket after slightly curling your fingers then it's okay...that seems to be the case here.

I believe the Neapolitan jacket is designed to be shorter (barely covering the posterior), thus I agree on shortening it by about an inch. It would be a more balanced look with the slim trousers.

Yes, the trousers are really quite slim. I had to let the seat/rise out (unless I wanted everyone to see more than they bargained for)

Update: I had the rise let out and the jacket shortened. It looks great! Definitely one of my favorite suits.
