Hi I received this pair of preown shoe and discovered these inside the shoes. Could anyone please help me identify if it’s mold?

Yes it's mold. (And mold is a fungus, to answer a question you have in another thread about this.)

Trim a cellulose sponge to a 2" square. Pour a small amount of bleach in a saucer. Wear a glove or sandwich bag. Suck up bleach with sponge. Press out excess (into sink). Blot sponge on insole of shoe. Blot, not soak. Let dry.

By the way would alcohol work instead of bleach?

Google tells me yes, but I've personally only worked with, and can speak for, bleach.

Is it too late to return them?

If new, yes and get a fresh pair. But assume these to be vintage, so one of a kind. It's not a big deal, especially since only small spots and only on the inside. Swab 'em, dry 'em, wear 'em.

My advice? Toss them. Lesson learned about buying used shoes.

no amount of bleach can take away the fact that you’re wearing moldy shoes which, based on the pics shown, are starting to fall apart.

Toss them. Buy a new pair of shoes. Those are Paraboot and I love Paraboot. If you can’t afford a new pair, buy something you can afford.

i have over 9 pair of paraboots. 3 Michael and 1 Morzine (Michael with 3 stripes). But this pair fit the best so I don’t want to toss them away lol. Guess I will use bleach and alcohol and wear them once 1-2 months

Vinegar changes ph levels. Many molds do not like that. Rinse with vinegar, let vinegar stay in the shoes for a bit. You do not want to remove just the surface and have nasty mold underneath.
Then repeat with bleach.
Then rinse w water,

then repeat with alcohol.

Thank you very much for your help. Can I take cotton balls dipped in vinegar/bleach and dab the areas with mold.
