Hi there folks,

Some of you might have seen my posts in waywrn of how short these trousers turned out after a trip to the tailors. Unfortunately I live abroad and cant take it back to the same tailor. I would need to have the inseam lengthened about 1 or 1.5 inches. The cuff is 2 inches. I would like to keep a 1.5 inch cuff minimum.

Is it possible to do that? Ive read that you can lengthen the inseam twice as much as the cuff width (maybe because of the way the cuffs are folded inside as well?) so shortening the cuff 0.5 would give me 1 extra inch in length? Ive posted a video on YouTube so you can see how its done now.

As always thank you so very much for the help!

correct -- at least the way most cuffs are constructed, you should be able to get an additional inch in length from reducing the cuff by 0.5" because the cuff is usually doubled.

However, you may not need to shorten the cuff as much or at all depending on how much extra fabric is inside the hem (folded up on the inside of the leg).

Take them to a tailor. Be sure to bring shoes that you'd wear with those trousers. they should be able to show you the pinned adjustment.
