Navy blue cashmere and charcoal flannel trousers?

I have a darkish navy cashmere blazer and I am looking for a pair of flannel trousers to pair with the blazer - I have a medium grey flannel suit so am toying with the idea of either a much lighter grey or a charcoal grey flannel trouser but being quite conservative it seems I may be treading on the fringes with respect to contrast, either too much contrast or too little - comments appreciated - thank you.

I think that pretty much any shade of gray (OK, maybe not super-dark charcoal) will work as long as you have the right shirt, tie, and shoes. It's just a matter of personal taste.

Medium gray is best. If your suit is a worsted flannel, a mottled woolen will be significantly different even if the color is similar. And if not, you'll still look better in oxford gray or a bit lighter.

Anyway, you can never have too much gray flannel.
