Considering an NSM commission,

Just read through 50+ pages of "Pa-Fucked" comments. Still haven't gotten to the resolution part. Did NSM ever address the issue? I think much of it was overblown by

Ha! You think?

The best posts addressing the issue are Depos's two posts here: http://www.styleforum.net/t/207054/my-visit-to-napoli-mina-napoli-su-misura/3500_100#post_6670494

I know Liverano and Formosa are talking about starting to make trips, but based on prior experiences with other italian tailors, I would rather wait until they demonstrate some consistency in coming before making that commitment.

Formosa is very committed to the NY trips and we've hosted them twice in 3 months already, with another trip before the end of the month. However, they're discovering an unusual level of flakiness from US buyers who book appointments and then cancel or don't show up. So I wouldn't blame them or point to a lack of commitment if they decide to come less regularly. I've had discussions with them about this and they make trips to Seoul and Tokyo where they find customers a lot more respectful of their time, efforts and investment in travel costs.

Can anyone tell me what the "house" lapel width is for NSM?

I've seen some jacket, but they're all wide. Like Polo Garrison / Tom Ford wide.

How narrow are they willing to go? Looking for moderate width on a SB jacket. (notch)

I think it depends on how large of a person you are. I am sure it is more to their eye than anything. I would imagine they are about in the realm of 4" though.

May look wide by today's standards, but fine to me otherwise. What really bothers me is the super high gorge in many of the above pictures

Those lapels look fine to me.

For your frame use 4" for wide lapels

3 3/4" for a moderate width

3 1/2" if you want a trimmer look. This is sort of a nondescript width. Neither wide or narrow

Don't care for lapels less than 3 1/2" but narrow lapels don't look good to my eye. Subjective call of course

Narrow lapels make your chest and shoulder look wider than they are and disproportionate. Lacks balance
