I got an '06, and I'm totally loving it. It's a big car, but it has amazing handling. It makes a glorious sound and is very fast.

Congratulations!

Beautiful car.

I remember a long time ago when you said you were on the list.

Looks like Christmas came early for you this year.

What options do you have? F1? CC brakes? CF seats?

Awesome! It finally came, congrats! I saw an F430 Spyder yesterday…the noise was spectacular. I really like the Daytona style seats with the black inserts. Of course, you know now that you have it, you have to show it at Cavallino Classic.

Nice ride!

A few weeks back, some kid a few years older than me pulled up to a bar I was at (had a patio out front) in an all black 430, may have been a soft top, I can't remember. All I can say about that is pictures sure don't do it justice, and I spent the rest of the night thinking of a way to make off with it

I've heard rumors of an ecu tweak or work-around that will give US cars the launch control feature of the Euro cars.

Any truth to this rumor? Can US spec cars be given launch control?

I'm pretty sure you need a launch control button on the center console, which this car does not have.

Mmmm Daytona seats. Great car congrats.

However, I feel I am one of the few people partial to 12 cylinder 2+2s. I also tend to like the classic models more than the modern ones.

Aha, but from what I've read the F430 is truly more the driver's car than the 599. It handles better, weighs less and is just zippier.

For pure zippy driving pleasure I would consider the Lotus Elise for about 100K less than a 430. Not as fast on the straight aways but catches up on the turns. You can flog it, trash it and not feel too bad about it.

For a Ferrari I like a GT such as a 456's because you can use it as a daily driver and can drive it to the ground. You don't worry about resale value because its resale value stinks. So you might as well drive it to the ground.

You may have to wait a few years for the 612's to plummet in value.

For classics, the Lusso just looks too cool. I'd shudder if I ever have to look for replacement parts though.

Does Ferrari know have some special kind of run-flat? If not, I'm shocked they offer them, especially on the F430. Or is this some sort of maneuver that is done to get around having a spare.. and owners simply replace the tires with non-runflats after purchase?

That is an amazing car. My girlfriend's Dad is picking up his Ferrari soon, although its a MY1970, not 2006
