I'm not sure that any colour, alone, is elegant, as such?

Isn't it more the expert use and combination of colour that makes them appear elegant?

Having said that, for menswear, I think I probably associate neutrals and/or darker tones/colours with elegance most?

So, black (especially for evening), charcoal, dark navy, very dark brown, burgundy, dark Racing Green etc..

At the moment, my preference would probably be for burgundy and Racing Green, as I'm just kind of into those colours, currently.

Doesn't mean they're any more elegant than the others, though.

My skin is brown... Navy suits look great on me... that's the most elegant colour on me. Drop some dark chocolate brown shoes on that freak, or oxblood and that's gonna work. J

And pocket squares? White silk, always.

Lots of great ideas here, but I'd like to salute those who said brown. It truly is underrated and surprisingly versatile. I rarely see a suit that does brown well, however, but in casual wear it works very, very well.

Dove gray, midnight blue, lavender, are all great, but let me throw out one my my personal faves...

bottle green.
