I'm looking to order a pair of Meermins and am hoping someone can help me determine what last and size to order. I measure a US 9D (left) and 9.5D (right) on a Brannock device. I have a high instep and wear a US 9E in AE Park Avenues because of my instep. 9.5D Park Avenues were very tight around my foot because of my instep. I reached out to Meermin and they recommended the Elton last in an 8.5. I'm not sure I agree with 8.5, I think it might end up being too big but have no point of reference or ability to try them on beforehand. If anyone can point me in the right direction I'd appreciate it.

Elton last has no wiggle room so if you need more width then I'd agree with them. I'm a 9D brannock and wear an 8 UK in the Elton last. To be honest, I don't think I'd get another pair on that last. Rui and Olfe are my preferred lasts.

Gotcha, thanks for the reply. The reason I am hesitant on the 8.5 is because I don't have a wide foot, but my high instep (not the base of my foot) necessitates the wider dress shoe. The Elton last description says it has a mid to high instep so I'm not sure I would need the extra half size if that's the case. I see that the Rois last also has a high instep, any experience with it?

Loving these unlined Penny’s. No structure and very soft.

Hi everyone. I'm new to the forum and have read quite a bit of posts in this tread regarding Meermin shoes. I have searched for information about size in Meermin loafers with RON last but I'm still a bit unsure on which size to get. I normally wear UK8. I did go and try on a pair of Loake's with Capital lasts and found 7.5 to be a bit more comfortable than 8 which felt a bit too wide.

My feet are quite narrow, around 90mm wide and around 268mm long. If I look at the sizing guide of Meermin both 7.5 and 8 would be too short based on the foot length but width wise and Girth wise I would say that maybe the 7.5 would be better. Any advise?

RON 8UK
Length: 286,3mm
Width: 95mm
Girth: 241mm
Foot length: 266,3mm

RON 7.5UK
Length: 282mm
Width: 94mm
Girth: 238mm
Foot length: 262mm

I am looking to purchase my first pair of Meermin oxford shoes. I have boiled it down to either the Olfe or Elton last, as per pics below. Just want to know which last to buy. Which one looks better and sleek between the two lasts. . Some feedback would be appreciated for people who are familiar with these shoes. If there are other lasts that looks better, please let me know.

Also not sure which size to get. I have an Allan Edmonds Park Ave size 7.5D, which fits me pretty good. What size would I need to get in Meermin for the above Olfe or Elton last.

Below are the pics of the two style I am interested in.

What size would you folks recommend for the rui last if I’m a size 8E or 8.5 D for Alden Barrie boots.

Ended up getting the tassel loafer in burgundy in UK8 size. The width is good but they could've maybe been a bit shorter. Might go for size 7.5 in the future. Anyway I'm quite content with the quality and looks of the shoes. Seems it will take some breaking in before these become comfortable since the leather is quite hard.

I own a pair of monkstraps in the Elton last. To me, this is the sleekest and best looking last Meermin offers. That said, I don't think there's a dramatic difference between Elton and Olfe.

I am seeing some comments that are saying that Elton last is too pointy. Is that the case? Is Olfe less pointy then Elton?
