Thank you for your helpful comment. I wonder if the shoes won't be too long if I size up half a size. I do own a pair of double monks on the Hiro last in size 8, and altough they are not a great fit for my feet they seem okay length wise. I did just put 'em up for sale on the B&S forum though because they feel as if my heels won't sink in deep enough.

I also own a pair of derbies on the new rey last, and these do fit my feet pretty well, although a bit snug, but nothing to worry about.

I guess Im not having any luck yet with finding my perfect Meermin last.

Just got a voicemail from fedex asking for "more information so that they can pre clear" my dm's that shipped yesterday. I'm guessing it's safe to assume I'm going to get hit with customs fees?
Just spoke with FedEx- they wanted to know what the toe caps were made of and if they were a part of the shoe? Sounds like I'll receive them tomorrow. Still now word on brokerage fees.

Looks like the pair of shoes Luisa said would be ready to ship failed quality control so it'll be another 20 days before they ship. I suppose it's good that they didn't send shoes that looked like the pair above but it'll be tough to wait nearly another month.

I'm trying to figure out how far along my order is as well. It was placed Jan 23rd and status changed to initiated on the 24th, but haven't heard anything back since. I've been trying to add shoe trees to my order but they've yet to reply to my emails.

Good luck. I'm afraid they've become too popular too fast. I'm okay with waiting but they're going to have to find a way to ramp up production while increasing quality control if they're going to have a future. I've seen many business fail from this kind of thing.

I hope you have better luck than I'm having. It took a full week to initiate my order and now another 20 days after the original 30. I'm willing to give them some leeway as I know they're swamped but perhaps Pepe needs to slow down trying to market his brand and focus on production at this point.

I am about to order a pair on the Ama last and another on the Rui last. I wear a 8.5 E US. Should a 7.5 Meermin size likely work? If it matters, I am on the smaller size a 8.5 US.

Does anyone have pictures of a single monk strap in the New Rey last? I love tthe look of long/sleek single monk straps but know Meermin only makes them in the Ama and Hiro lasts. Has anyone custom made single straps in the New Rey?

I would suggest keeping tabs on the order when the time gets near. That way they know you expect them and have a need. I've been emailing with Luisa today and the upshot is that they are going to replace my order for black oxfords with a very similar model that is reversed stitched and in stock. She is also sending them express so that I have them in time for my trip next week.

They absolutely need to focus on expanding production while improving quality control (no easy task when much of the work is done half way around the world), but their customer service is tops. I don't know how long I will have to wait for my double monks but at least I'll have one new pair soon so long as they're of acceptable quality.
