Matching sleeve buttons to leather buttons

I recently had a tweed SC made, and had the traditional braided leather buttons put on the front.
Also, the tailor said he was out of (small) leather buttons, so he put the full size leather buttons also on the sleeve (two buttons per sleeve)

Because these buttons have the big loops/posts on the back of them, they are very uncomfortable and poke into my forearm if I put my arm down on anything.

I need to change them out, but I'm not sure how to match the sleeve buttons to the front buttons.

Would it be OK just to put simple flat buttons on the sleeves (e.g. simple horn buttons), or would this look ridiculous if they didn't match the leather buttons? What type of sleeve buttons would match the front leather buttons?

Alternatively are there any small braided leather buttons suitable for putting on sleeve (ones which don't have the post which pokes into my forearm)? Any pointers to a specific button available internationally would be greatly appreciated.

Why don't you just go back to your tailor, tell him the large cuff buttons bother you and ask him if he can order small ones?

+1

Normal buttons on just the sleeves will look silly; if you can't get matching small buttons then you'll have to replace all the buttons, either with leather ones or otherwise, so that they will all match.

I trust he gave you some sort of discount for that bit of laziness.
