So, I'm sitting here and drinking bourbon and eating some sopressata salami and frankenmuth cheese and thinking "this is a pretty manly snack"

What do you guys consider manly food? Besides the obvious steak/burgers/large roasted animals?

Heavy protein = manly. Except for soy. Soy is as fem as you can get.

A hearty goat or beef stew with potatoes, carrots, tomatoes. The works! OR Roulladen served with German beer:)

By the way the most manly food is obviously the still-beating heart of your enemy.

Just so we're clear.

but yeah we know steak is manly. Other ****, please.

I'm thinking smoked foods...that you smoked yourself (like kwilk suggested, bold, aggressive flavours).

Note: Only manly if followed by a bit of downing and that afterwards:

Now that I think about it, I've had a similar conversation before with a friend, and we decided that the manliest meal is something crude, raw, simple that you eat between your battles for nourishement, not for fun.

So kind of like roasting a rabbit or eating some beef jerky you had in your backpack between battles.

By that definition, army rations are the manliest food in the world. I was always partial to beans & weiners (vintage late 80s) personally.

Sopressata is for girls; calabrese is the manly version.

that was what I was thinking - army rations, heated up over broken ammo boxes on a cold rainy night that you you be sleeping on the ground.

second place - steak tartare, or any other raw food

third - protien that you saw when it was alive - an animal you killed, a lobster that you chose from the tank
