I just mean it in a purely aesthetic sense, I.e. after wearing for a while you end up with flappy bits of leather that you wouldn't get with open channels.
I've never really gotten flappy bits. Kind of did on one pair of crocketts that I got drenched but I glued it back down.

Also, does anyone have photos of Artista shoes with Inca or Senior sole? Do you still get the slim waist and increased arch support? Maybe even bevelled waist with the Senior sole?
We have never received any request for either that or to use the main line lasts with artista. (Cant say if Toni has though) If you look for other lasts than the artista ones (from the main line) and thicker soles etc you kind of step away from the idea behind Artista and all the work and efforts by the factory with the lasts and soles etc imho. If you prefer senior/inca sole i would simply go ML.

My hope was to use Artista construction with Artista last, leather quality, arch support and leather heel, but with Senior sole. Seems like that should be possible with the senior sole, at least, with the leather waist. The bevelled waist isn't that important to me, but the arch support is. I sent him an email, so we'll see what he says.

Interesting, may i ask just out of curiosity why you want the senior sole?

I found the city sole to be a little too soft for my usage. I walk on gravel on my way to work and sometimes the pebbles puncture the heel on the city soles. I need something slightly stronger, but still slim, so I figured I try the Senior sole.

On a related note, I only now see that TLB offers double city rubber soles ?

@Emil S -- You should ask about a Black Captoe Oxford with Swan's Neck and Reverse Stitching like is done with the recently posted Reverse Stitched Split-toe Blucher. Toss on there the City or Senior Soles, would be clean AF.
