Thanks for the various heads-ups! I think we just missed some discounted stuff from Drake's and Trunk Clothiers at the Monocle 'Christmas Fayre' last week.

Harrods has a "Fashion Sale Preview" throughout this week
(up to and including Sunday 9th December).

Most (but not all) fashion items carry a reduction of 30% on presentation of
a Harrods Loyalty card. The card is free and if you haven't got one, you can
    get it there and then.

I bought three last year and found them to be similar in quality to H&K. Selection is limited.

Ties were 75, so it wasn't, say, exceptionally, below their retail.

Not that I'm expecting anything of course.

It's not a brick and mortar store, but I'm having a weekend sale at my webstore, it finishes Monday night.

25% off everything except the hangers and The Rake magazine. All shipped free in the UK.

Enter the code "25off" to apply the discount.

    Exquisite Trimmings

P.S. If any of the UK people would like to see any of my stuff in person, just send me a PM or email (shaya@exquisitetrimmings.com)

Cheaney stores in Lime St and Bow St are running sales at present with some decent deals.

Absolutely. Most stores have a January 'sale' which starts either immediately after Christmas (if it's John Lewis or Selfridges), or in the new year.

Private sales in general are mostly BS from my experience, RL's private sales more so due to their policy of crazy price dumping in their prime outlets.

I issue a 'challenge': please guess what was the cheapest that price EG Inverness were on sale in the UK's RL outlet this fall? You will be surprised I guarantee

I have no idea - tell me. My wife buys stuff at RL occasionally, and received a card in the post about the private sale this week, so I thought I'd be helpful. Likewise Fosters texted me about their sale: I guess they have my number as a result of my having bought a pair of shoes from them once.

How much of a discount do the shoe stores typically offer after Christmas? I'm arriving in London on the 26th, and was hoping to pickup a couple pairs at around £200 a set.

ca. 10-50% with the majority about 20-30%. For £200 you won't get a good pair of shoes to be honest - perhaps in Cheaney.

Beware that many just sell seconds in the sales period.
