I would really love to have a pair of navy blue Pimlico suede chukka boots... :)
Loake do make a blue, suede desert boot, called Sahara, in their Lifestyle range. I have them, as shoes, where they are known as Mojave. Not Goodyear welted or particularly solid, they are very comfortable and certainly worth considering. Yours truly, Munky.

I don't really understand suede. This is re my new Pimlicos. When I took them out of the box, it was almost impossible to put my (right size) shoe trees in them. I wore them once, for a couple of hours and came home with feet that appeared to have been put through the mincer. Left them for a few days. Went out in them today and they were very ,very, comfortable. Shoe trees went straight in, when I came back. They are likely to become one of my favourite pairs of shoes. They are beautiful, in green.

I guess this is all about how suede can easily adjust to the size and shape of your feet (or shoe trees). I didn't expect such a dramatic change, though. I have never had problems, before, of the breaking in variety. I think some sort of not-yet-discovered magic is at work here. Yours in good spirits, Munky.

Hi Munky. Do you have any photos of your green suede Pimlico? I'd love to see them if so.

Thank you Munky, but I would prefer a solid GYW chukka to the desert boots, that I already have in light sand maraca suede: certain outfits need a more upscale kind of chukka. By the way, I own the green ones as yours as well as the dark brown calf Pimlico model.

We want to see your green chukkas “on your feet”, not the “official” image, [emoji854]

That's what I was going to say, too. I've seen the Loake shot many times. But it's against a white background, so it's not all that illuminating.

Sorry, guys, I don't have the means of taking photos. :( Yours, Muny.

Hey guys, I happened to try on green Pimlico's the other day. I wasn't intending to upload them anywhere so apologies for lack of quality. Gorgeous boot, can't wait until I get mine in dark brown suede.

I wanted to ask something for some time. I noticed that many derby shoes and boots have the two parts of the camp misaligned. I found this often in Loake products, but also in more expensive brands (even EG).

My Hyde have this imperfection as well as you can see from the attached picture (quite evident on the left shoe)

Is this considered a QC issue? I noticed it a few days after wearing it so I didn't send them back. What's your opinion?

It's simply your foot pushing shoes to the inside. I have flat feet and its 2x worse.

I don't think this is the case. This vamp misalignment is visible even when I am not wearing them and I saw it in many other models too.

Another example found online:

It looks misaligned to me. That's one of the disadvantages of buying online versus fitting in a shop, you get what they send you.

I'd always been under the impression that Loake were mediocre at best and that it was best to skip over them and pay a bit more, especially if you can find more expensive shoes at a discount.
Today I stumbled upon a Loake store in Exeter, Devon and was really very impressed. Rows upon rows of lovely shoes that stood up to close inspection. I just looked at the website and was back to being underwhelmed again. Something doesn't come across in the photos.

I checked the price on a lot of the pairs and most seemed to be below £250. I think I'm going to have to go back after reading about the different ranges.
