Here are another beautiful pair by another Japanese maker in pigskin.. Marquess.

Some wholecut loafers in a color 8 (dark burgundy) by one of the under appreciated Roman makers.. Bocache & Salvucci

Both are unfortunately bespoke, so in the $2100+ range

You can not go wrong with either. The Harvard is unlined which is good because it is more flexible (from the outset than the Sydney). Although truth be told, both are good-year welted construction. Typically nothing is as flexible as a Blake welt which is why Italian makers love doing that stitching on loafers.

love the wholecuts... unfortunately not super in love with all the other designs on their website, but will keep in the back of my mind if I am ever in rome:)...

who is the maker of the japanese loafers?

regarding koji suzuki, I am not sure if it is really worth the hassle (even going to hawaii) but definitely on my bucket list to get some japanese bespoke shoes... I was quoted about $2,000 for koji MTO - bespoke is like $4k...
