Hi,

many mention as a wardrobe staple a light blue oxford cloth button-down shirt, I was wondering if this is the kind of shirt you guys mention?

Would this be a good item to purchase, my price range is pretty much around that price so can't afford high quality stuff.

Also, anyone have suggestions in how to wear it for an everyday casual style? Maybe grey wool trousers + that shirt?

I know it's not the same name but is this its equivalent?

Because I can't find the tailored fit Hyde Parks on the website..
Also, this kind of shirt is for casual wear right? Can anyone tell me on some good combinations of what to wear it with since it seems to be a versatile piece of clothing?
Thanks.

I would like to know this as well. I've never purchased any Lands End ocbd before, but would like to since the pricing is much cheaper than jcrew

Royal oxford isn't as casual, but it's fine. Anyhow, while oxford cloth may have been "casual" before World War II, men have been wearing it for all but really formal occasions since then. So you could wear it with a suit (any color, although colors tend to clash with black), any sports jacket, or any sweater (any color but light blue) or with no top layer (with any color of pants). That's why it's so versatile and considered such an essential.

Really traditional combinations would be with a mid-gray flannel suit or a brown or navy sports jacket with mid-gray flannel trousers; a small-pattern-print, repp or knit tie; and brown or suede shoes.

You could also easily wear that shirt with jeans or khakis and you could layer a crew neck sweatshirt over it. Really, a blue oxford cloth button down is one of the most versatile shirts you can own.
