Yeah, nobody can say he was taken before his time. (Actually, he's one of those people who's been old as long as I've known him, or at least his shock of white hair made him always appear older than he was.)

OTOH, Michael Jackson's death did make me sad, not because I was a huge fan, but because here was this man who was trying to vindicate himself, but was thwarted by a premature, pointless and unceremonious death.

He was 84? Damn, he looked great for his age. I wouldn't have passed him for more than 70.

And he was right in the middle of my generation. I remember him over many, many years.

I have a feeling that he had a full and great life and that is a nice note to go out on ( and 84 is not too soon though he is still gonna be missed ).
