I think FW16 is still my favourite season and I kick myself regularly for not buying that windowpane raglan coat when it appeared in B&S. Not a fan of the latest season either.

I think it would be too cynical to say that the shift towards more streetwear styles was purely financially motivated, but before that it really felt like it was coming into its own as a brand with an interesting identity. @OccultaVexillum a few stories that I saw, not too much detail but just looked more interesting at a glance

New season does look better from glimpses, and that might have been my FW16 herringbone raglan coat in B&S lol. Fabric was special, hopefully they stop making lame / thoughtless streetwear

From the showroom

I think this is mostly women’s but the crossover between silhouettes and patterns and fabrics is pretty close

Changes to the brand's site + Instagram (so annoying when people/brands do this and delete all the old photos!), change in direction or just a bit of a refresh?

Yeah it’s hard to say. I dont remember ever seeing a preview of 19.1 Hunter and the pre-order was in store only so I never saw anything there either. Based on that I thought that maybe they were headed in a different direction, but there is some 19.1 Hunter at a few shops and it looks very similar to the past seasons. There’s even pieces that are the exact same silhouette just with different graphics (check out H Lorenzo).
But, also, I know some buyers that said the 19.2 collection that was just shown in Paris had a pretty different vibe and they said it was a stepping point for SFTM. So maybe they are just gearing up for the change but still have to get this collection out of the way first?

I went to the flagship store today and got a preview of Le Bled (ss20) that was just shown in Paris. It’s really really good. Still heavily leaning toward street wear but after trying on a ton of stuff I’m more convinced it’s about the styling. Most stores buy and style it as street wear but it’s easy to wear in other ways.
There’s some really nice woven fabrics and custom jaquards that are knit locally in Sydney. There was a worker jacket and zip patch pocket jacket specifically that were amazing.
Hunter (FW19) was all on racks in the back too and they said they are hoping to release it next week, so if they do then I’ll go back for sure to check it out.
SFTM is still one of those labels that really blows me away in person but underwhelms me on the internet.
