Speaking of A2s... Took a peak at the jacket last night. thinking it's time to mend the knits.

I counted close to 20 moth holes combined. Some have some pulls. They look saveable though.

What's a reasonable cost to darn them up? I assume we're at like $100 for a tailor that's not a complete moron?

I'm in the San Francisco Bay area if anyone has suggestions. There is Johnson leathers, but making awesome leather jackets and darning 80 year old wool knits don't necessarily go hand in hand.

Advanced European Tailors in Berkeley does leather jacket alterations and repairs. The owner buys rare and vintage military jackets, including A2s, and repairs them before selling them to Japanese collectors. He uses original trims.

It's literally the 10,000th iteration of the same ****. Sinned you don't need another black leather jacket

@LA Guy you back from vacation yet?

would you guys say this is damage from friction? or just normal design? I've never seen blackish marks on blistered rick.

I'd say that was within the normal variation I'd expect, and probably wouldn't have noticed it if you hadn't pointed it out.

As for the Schott x 3sixteen, my leather jacket rack is literally full, two of my leathers have not even been worn yet, and I still have one to order. I already broke down once by buying a 5zip (thanks, kop thread!). No more. This one shall pass.

And anyway, Schott's fit doesn't quite work for me through the body, to an extent that isn't noticeable in suede but that stands out in leather. I'm curious which horsehide they use, because I'm not aware of any thinner Horween horsehides worth noting (and I assume this will be Horween like the others).
