I just wanted to state the obvious. I have observed that having a lean body is extremely important when it comes to looking stylish. I am not talking a ripped 6-pack and peaked biceps, though that definitely looks good too, but just having a flat stomach and an athletic build. A guy with a 32 inch waist looks better in a pair of 501s and a well fitting hanes T than a guy with a 34 inch waist looks in a Paul Stewart shirt and a pair of APC jeans. If you have a paunch, the best style advice I can think of is to drop 15 pounds before you buy any new clothes. And make sure they keep fitting when you do buy them. Your thoughts please.

what if my waist is 33"? Am I allowed to wear clothes then, or do I still have to remain naked until I lose another inch? It's 50s and raining here you know, did you even think of that? And I don't even see what's so special about his shirt anyway.

You MUST remain naked you have a 32" waist. In fact I am naked for that reason myself. Um, Paul Stuart?

How about a loin cloth? Can a pudge-meister parade about in a loincloth? Like maybe a Tommy Hilfiger loincloth?

Let's not forget what someone's face looks like and the character of that person. Girls do look for more in a guy than some outfit. I know that might sound craaaazy, but hey, you know, human nature. There once wasn't fashion.

That's why I wear a mask all the time. It seemed to work for Jim Carrey.

Wait. I have a 34" waist. I'm fat now? Kee-rist! As if I didn't have enough problems to deal with.

I have a 34 inch waist with only about 8 percent bodyfat. I guess your saying that being heroin chic looks best.

No need to jump on the poster in such a manner, he was giving subjective examples. My dad has a 34 inch waist and is overweight, because he's 5' 4". I think the basic point is if your waist equals or exceeds your hips, you probably want to shed some stomach before you worry about your 'sick threads'. According to research at Cambridge or somewhere the idealised male waist/hip ratio (by survey in Europe) is at 0.9, I'm at 0.85 being a skinny waif. Incidentally it's 0.7 for women (statue of Venus, Jessica Alba). No idea about ideal measurements for anything else... the caricaturisation of an 'ubermale' is an inverse triangle, but then women find David Beckham attractive and he's all leg muscle and no chest.
