Horrifically outdated for SF standards.
Note the closed quarters.
Note the button stance.
Note the massive lapels.
$20 Ebay jacket?

That "outdated" phone will get better reception than the crap you use today and if you're out in the middle of nowhere it will get reception while yours won't.

Do you see small lapels and open quarters?
If you, you may need your vision checked !

Those lapels aren't massive and the quarters are closed because both buttons are buttoned. The low button stance is still seen today with RLBL, etc. The dated feature I'd say are the notches.

FYI - I was told a few years ago the cell companies blocked those particular channels or whatever so the old style phones no longer work...

I think you look to a different part of SF for lapels; I think you will find that most people who like the Napolitan look here favor wider lapels.

I agree with you on the open quarters, but as the bottom button is not open, it's somewhat hard to tell how open these are. They may still fall within SF approved territory.

No, not too wide. But the bowing of the lapel and maybe the notch angles makes it look slightly dated.

I agree. I don't think the lapels are to wide, the button stance looks fine to me. The extremely obtuse lapel notches contribute to the jackets dated look.

is the lapel too wide?
Thanks

fashion v style. combination of lapel width, deep gorge, big notches and broad structured shoulders dates this, but it's still a great retro jacket IMO

the problem with these sort of pieces is invariably the buyer uses them as 'serious' wear and then they just look old and outdated. If it's work with otherwise modern and stylish items or in an ironic way (hipster) then it's ok.The other alternative is if you're a total trad guy and wearing this almost as a costume of sorts to play that part.

How about wearing this to a GOP convention, say state level.
