Coming back from the doctor's this afternoon, I stopped in at the Peter Elliot Outlet at Madison and 80th. They have at least a dozen or so Kiton sportcoats (Kiton for Peter Elliot on the label) reduced to $1000 from $3500 or so. It may have been my feverish state, but while doubtless beautifully constructed and of superb fabric quality, the patterns were goddawful. I'm talking plaids that you'd wear to a cockfight in Coral Gables at best. Of course, some people may like them. There's also a great deal for someone to flip on Ebay--for $495, there's a Kiton light olive cotton and wool blend suit--I think a 40, but I don't remember. They also had Paul Smith slacks for $50. Worth checking out. Now I'm back to bed.

I truly admire someone who stops at the Peter Elliott Outlet on the way home to a sick-bed and then shares the experience. A true clothing aficionado.

I have found the Outlet to be very hit or miss. When it is a hit, it can be amazing.

While I agree that your sartorial passion cannot be denied, I wish to discuss the other part of your post: the cockfight in Coral Gables.

Indeed, when have you actually witnessed a cockfight in Coral Gables?

Jon.

I chose upscale Coral Gables more for its alliterative value, as you know. I could have used "Juarez" or "Tijuana", but the poetic rhythm would suffer.

I'm pretty sure it was Kiton--I remember being surprised at the price and checked the label again.

To be fair, though, I wasn't 100% at the time, so I could be wrong.

Lint Brush, what a cool nic. Much more original and catchy than mine.

Jeez, I'm sorry I put you through the trouble. Belvest is no slouch, of course, but Kiton would have been easier to flip.

I wonder what else I hallucinated yesterday . . .
