In fact this is my point: a gentle pink that's almost clear, as for Cameo or Dhalia, is pleasant and suitable, a solid one, no matter the fit, is too extravagant and doesn't look good.

Dhalia.

Hmm I didn't understand this post, but I did try on one of the lighter pink models for the Dealan. Dahlia I think(maybe the one you just posted). I found it pretty easy to pull off as sunglasses. These models look too washed out as opticals for my taste though.

It all depends on the skin tone and the face shape.e.g Dahlia color would look great as an optical on me and would never look washed out. I also agree that pink/blush color only works on you due to the dark sunglasses lenses.

I said that I don't like blue for glasses, but have to admit that this Royal looks classy, although, as someone has complained, it reads almost black. However this is in fact the reason I like it.

By the way, the Richard looks awesome, have to decide which colourway I will (first) get. A bummer it's only optical.

My view is the opposite to this. I waited for ages for some decent blue frames and grew very impatient with colour names like ‘royal’ and ‘marine’ when they were barely distinguishable from black. I finally got my wish with the cobalt Herbies and vesper Dealans. I realise that almost-black frames are more versatile but almost every frame seems to come out with some variation on black so I’d be happy if there was a broader selection of blues coming out.

Yes I was wondering about the shipping costs. Im unfortunately not surprised they are very high. The business I am at does very large volume with UPS (in our case) and the annual shipping costs- even at the highest volume breaks negotiated- are mind blowing to me.

These two frames are amazing. The Ari I particularly liked. When JMM prices were lower, I ended up opting for the Clyde from the JMM website instead of the Ari. Clyde in Agar: $625 USD (~$820ish CDN). The Ari price was the same today as it was in 2022 in-store at G when I waffled over them.

The clyde is growing on me, I'll wait to see how the Ari suits me and maybe will hunting it next.

Especially for @Easily Amused and anyone else interested in the JMM silver and turquoise stuff they put out - I finally got round to doing a blog post including some pics of the stuff I had custom made for me. This all started when I took a liking to the Nick Fouquet hat band they put out a while back but no way was I lashing out $2k for something like that.

Scroll down and the pics at the end show the hat band I had made along with belt buckle and chunky ring all for significantly less than $1k. This was from a jewelry shop I came across during my annual scuba trips to Cozumel. I’m now looking into getting some monogrammed cufflinks made. (They already made me some scuba flag cufflinks in red coral!)

I’m selling my silver and turquoise thunderbird pin.
Someone make me an offer or else it’s going on eBay but I’d prefer not to get stung for their sellers’ charge!

Sorry for the crappy iPhone pics!
