Thank you, I appreciate that.
Wishing you all the best in your recovery, Mike! I think I speak for all of us when I say we'll be rooting hard for you and you WILL beat this! Appreciate you sharing your story!
Thank you. The take away I’d like each and everyone of you is not to ignore the small things as I had. I experienced a nagging pain, but it was manageable, so I kept my focus on the care of my mother, my business, and even my sport, pushing aside my own warning signs. I am shocked that I walked into the ER that weekend, why not wait until the following week. The thing is had made an appointment weeks before to see a specialist recommended by a client, so I had been waiting for him. But I waited no more, and though the lump was so small, I was apparently hours away from going sceptic and likely fatally so.

So, at the risk of sounding like your father—and, hey, I am old enough to be for many of you—I beg of you to not ignore or postpone the seemingly little things. And if your health care is intimidating or tricky, stand up to it, find your way through. Your health, your life matters.

Be healthy and safe my brothers…my sons. And thank you for your generous and compassionate replies, that I will carry with me.

Hi All,

To those who might remember me, and noticed my absence, the long and short of it is this: I seemed to be perfectly healthy, nationally ranked in three sports at one time, and still held a national ranking in two, was fit, felt a nickel sized lump on my right reared check, went to the ER under protest on 6/25/22 and was discharged 9/09/23. I nearly died three times, had to learn to walk and climb stairs again, and am undergoing chemo now. Have no doubt, I will beat this thing, and I will have a great time doing so.

Meanwhile, you look good in everything, but if forced to decide, I would say:

Enzo - sunglasses
Molino - opticals
Prudhon - opticals choice #2 (due to size, says the guy whose favorite frame on himself is a round 38mm)

Don’t give up on the Torinos. I own a pair of Peppers (Hoppers) in Vintage Havana. They constantly slipped down my nose and irritated me to no end, but I continued to bring them in for adjustments. I don’t know, I just seem to give up on nothing lately, and one day recently, I finally brought them in when a new customer rep was in, who adjusted the frames perfectly. They are now among my favorite to wear. And don’t get me started on how beautiful the Vintage Havana are.

I am on Chemo for the next three days, before I get a break, and I am tired tonight, but before I get to sleep, I will say be tenacious, don’t give up on a frame that you love. Get those Torinos adjusted correctly.

it is nice to be a part of the conversation again.

Season’s best wishes to you all!
Mike

Nothing but love and good wishes your way bro. Stay strong

Welcome back @MícheálfromCDM! Keep on fighting the good fight. Will keep at it with the Torinos.

Thanks all for your feedback! Enzo is a keeper. Gonna return the Prudhon. Love juniper as a translucent and would prefer it in another shape if possible.

I like the Enzo on you and the other two, particularly the Prudhon, can go back.

Personally would like to see you try something other than a rectangular or square shape.
Agree on all points.

@Colrais, you’ve got a great look to accompany some more interesting JMM frames. Step outside the box a little but keep the Enzo, as it works well and Surplus is fantastic.

Now I realize I’m saying step outside the box while I own many of one frame style only only, Enzo, but my head is a thumb. Yours is not.
Appreciate the votes of confidence! Suggestions on shapes to consider? Taos is on my bucket list. Probably a PCH at some point.

Thank you so very much. I read your posts, but I hadn’t the energy to participate. It was lovely to get to read your thoughts and see your handsome mugs rockin’ the latest and greatest though.
