Do potential buyers agree to send you a MO or check when you post something for sale here? Sorry about the question, but it wasn't covered in the FAQ above.

IMO the seller should recieve cash before sending items.

I think we have a great buying and selling community here. Considering how much merchandise is moved very few complaints ever make it to the board. People work through things behind the scenes (as it should be). If you got a bad rep in B&S you'd be through.

I've seen flakes on other forums but have never heard of a bad sale on SF, I think that in part, it's the same high level of respect in the member community that keeps us a little more "civil' than some of the other men's style forums.

I'd say 90% of the transactions are done via paypal or google checkout, which is nice because they have their own fraud-protection services and you'd work with them directly.

The remaining 10% are either "meet in person cash/merch exchanges" or eBay transactions, with the ebay links posted here. eBay fraud protection covers your butt there too.

Yes, another reason why styleforum rocks

In my experience, SF members are trustworthy.

Some are occasionally inattentive or going through complicated portions of their lives, but if one wishes to act in bad faith, joining a forum like this is not worth the effort.

I've purchased quite a few items from various members. They have all been trustworthy. I trust their merchandise, description, and above all, style judgement. I've never heard of some of the brands until I started paying attention here.

Same here. I don't think I've ever had a problem as a buyer or a seller. Not that I'm an entirely impartial commentator, but I think this is one of the things that makes SF great. You find bargains and/or sell items with much less hassle than ebay, where there seems to be no sense of community.
