Is my navy blue suit too dark?

I recently bought a navy blue suit, tailored. I feel like I chose the wrong shade since the suit looks more of a black suit than a navy blue suit. I’m not sure if it is the lighting but it looks a bit too dark. What are your take on this?
The first picture is the reference material of what I wanted.
The second picture is of me wearing the suit.
The third picture is of the colour of the material under good lighting.

there isn't a 'wrong' shade of navy. This shade is 'midnight navy' and in low light it does look very close to black. The question is not whether it's the 'right' shade of navy but whether it's the shade that you want. Personally I'd wear it.
oh ok, thank you. Do you think blue tie and white pocket cuffs will go with this suit? I’m wearing this suit for farewell, so will it suit the occasion? If you have a better suggestion, please do recommend.

what do you mean by 'farewell' -- do you mean a funeral? In any case this is a very conservative color, will be fine for pretty much any event.

A solid blue tie can work but it should be dark and not shiny. White shirt and white pocket square are good choices.

Farewell is basically graduation or a valedictory ceremony in India. There is no dress code in particular but the students are expected to wear suits or any formal wear.

ah, thanks for the explanation. Congratulations.

One suggestion - the trouser legs are quite slim. Personally I'd see whether they can be widened a bit (depends on how much fabric allowance you have at the seams inside the leg) so that they hang a little more cleanly. If you prefer keeping them they way they are, I'd shorten the legs slightly so that there is minimal/no break.

Oh yes, thank you for the suggestion. I will make sure to talk to my tailor about it and see what he has to say about it.

Your suit looks very nice. I prefer the darker shade navy suits vs. something a little lighter. Darker navy that is close to midnight blue always stood out to me as the most striking, understated-yet-elegant choice you can pick when it comes to suits, provided the suit fits well.

Do you think it will look blue during day time? Will it be distinguish able from black?
