Black doesn't bother me, at all. I love it. Black flatters any skin tone. It's classic. It's elegant. But anything black, must be of high quality; its emphatic silhouette will emphasize even the most minuscule mistakes. Also, no denying that black, can be WARM. On the right days, though, and when you're up to wearing black, I see absolutely no reason, not to do so.

No, he is wearing an academic gown, in black and red velvet. And that picture was painted around 1502.

Regardless of what one thinks of the black suit, I think this simply isn't true. Guys with pale skin and dark hair should avoid it, at the least. I know black looks terrible on me in the daytime. (And I'm not even pale.) Same with a lot of navy.

I believe it should be locked on the day Manton commissions his first black suit from Frank Shattuck

A bad choice, yes. They all look like they want to be well-dressed but can't come up with anything more sophisticated than black on black.

It's almost worth flushing four large just to get this thread locked.

This reminds me of a joke about Italian engineers...

Manton, instead of wasting that money, I have a proposal. Give half of it to me. I'll make sure the thread gets locked.

Personally I like more the girls in black than the guys in the picture... OK, OK I confess... subconcious motivations....

As a rule, all black looks better than all brown (dark brown). Maybe it's a subconscious association of brown with filth.
