Hi all,

Abir here from India. Trying to find out my own style that suits me (are puns appreciated here?) since I am not always a big fan of trends, and they don't necessarily suit the weather here or my body for that matter.

Looking to learn a lot here, both for formal and casual wear!

Cheers!

Greetings,

I registered because I need help reducing the rigamarole of buying men's wear online. My situation is this:
  1. I'm 6'6" and typically require shoes sized between US15-16D, and extra-long jackets.
  2. Men's wear retailers exist only in legend where I live (unless a half-dozen farm supply stores and two Walmarts count).
  3. Condition 2 is essentially moot because the brick-n-mortar stores of distant lands only stock extended sizes intended for the "executive" build.
  4. Big and Tall stores are a joke, so I no longer seek them out while traveling.
  5. Conditions 1 through 4 leave me in an internet-based wild goose chase.
I know, I know--cry me a river.

Anyway, I come seeking mostly sizing advice from those in the know.

Cheers!

Greetings to you goodfoot, although I‘m not personally well learned in the ‘tall-big man‘ menswear category, I’m sure that someone in the forum will be able to help you, provide information, etc.
Welcome aboard!

Hi all! New to the forum. Single dude living in NYC (and relatively new to the city). Really enjoying the proximity to the wonderful brick and mortars in the city (No Man Walks Alone, 18 East, Carmina, Alden, etc.).

Currently stumped on whether I should just purchase the Alden 99162 or wait for the 986 to come back in stock (both are color 8 LHS loafers, just the 99162 has a higher vamp).

Anyways, about to search through the forum to see if I can find some wisdom on this topic.

Cheers!

Hi, NYC is shoe town indeed. Personally I’d wait for the 986 to come back in stock, try on each pair and do a side by side comparision. Welcome to the forum!

Unfortunately, I don't think any store stocks the 99162 (I only saw it on the ShoeMart and in the Alden B/S/T thread).

Do you have any thoughts on how vamp length would affect fit/comfort? Most articles I find just comment on how it affects the look/formality.

Appreciate the warm welcome!

Howdy, hmmm- unfortunately no. Fit, etc. is all subjective. You really should go & try on the different styles, models & ‘feel’ the differences first hand, (foot?!). How I might feel in ‘shoe A’ might be & very likely will be a different experience for yourself.
Keep looking, compare differences between brands. Most importantly be patient & enjoy the hunt!

Greetings,
I'm here because of dieworkwear. I lived in Indonesia, very hot climate. sometimes I want to layer my outfits, but can't handle the heat. currently figuring how should I dress my new bought braces/suspender. I have some high-rise trousers buttoned, so I guess I just wearing a tee, jacket (to cover up the braces/suspenders) and derby boots.

I hope I can learn new things here, thank you

Hello everyone,

I am Bhanu. Based in Australia but originally from Los Angeles. Have always been interested in menswear but getting into it a bit more over the last few years. Particularly given the shift from business suits to business casual. Still figuring that one out.
I like good comfortable broken in leather boots with a pair of comfortable jeans or chinos. Wear a lot of suits, sport coats for work.
Looking forward to learning here.
Thanks
