And so, there I was, forced to install strands of overhead lights above an outdoor fire pit area...all the while nursing a torn rotator cuff. In search of pieces and parts, i unlocked the great dank barn shed and began searching for hooks, wire, zip ties and outdoor extension cords. Much to my glee and surprise, lifting one box off of another i discovered my long lost Black Trickers Chukka boots! I rescued them from the perilous underneath box and set them out into the fresh air and setting Sunday sun. The lights were strung then in short order. The Trickers were moved inside for greater attention. Upon picking them up and examining them in something other than afternoon sun, I noticed that the right shoe had been claimed by a nest of stink bugs. I soon popped those guys out and took to cleaning the uppers—which looked a bit dry and chalky. A bit of warm water later and they were resuming an almost life like appearance. Gone was the chalky pallor of abandonment. A little cream, a little wax...some wear around the house and low & behold—a full resurrection...wore them to work and they they were spot on! A few pics attached.
