I think your poll is a little skewed towards the tall--isn't 5'9" average for guys? Or at least, that's what I keep telling myself. On a good day I'm a bit more than 5'7".

They say that 5'9 is average for us, but very few of my friends are shorter than 6'. I chose a distribution that seemed appropriate for the people I know. We'll see how it goes.

it would be interesting to see a correlation of this and board member nationality.

Closer to 5'9" than 5'10. I think that with the average suit size and the most common size found on eBay being a 40 that these numbers indicate average.

I know that many sample suits from suppliers are 40. (50 European)

I heard the average is rising quite a bit, I'm right about 6'1, perhaps a little taller.

I'm 6' 1". Just on the verge of being to tall for some XL shirts. Really have to watch putting things in the dryer.

Actually, I believe height is stagnant in the US, and rising in Europe.  One country (Netherlands, I believe) is supposed to have an average male height over 6 feet tall.  I'm not sure if that is all men, or the youngest adult age bracket.  Again, this is from memory from an article somewhere last year.

Wow. Based on the results of the poll at the time I'm posting this, there appears to be a strong inverse correlation between height and sense of style...

Wow. After that crack, I wasn't sure I should answer the poll. I'm 6'3". But I don't claim to have a sense of style.

5' 10 3/4". But I'm vain, and say 5'11". Weight fluctuates between 165 and 170 lbs. I'd say I am average for my generation (I'm 30), but my youngest brother (21), and his friends are nearly all taller than I am - all ethnicities.

Fit a 50 EU Perfectly in nearly all European brands, so sample sales are grat for me.

I'm 6'2", which I understand to be the average for Dutch men nowadays (and my last name and a fraction of my ethnic heritage are Dutch).

I always thought that the average for U.S. men was 5'11", not 5'9".
