I build credit the easy way by spending as little hard cash as possible. You'll usually never catch me with anything more than 60 bucks in my wallet and that's rare.

$200-300, plus a credit card or two, never know when an earthquake will knock out the ATMs in Cali so I keep more at home too.

I used to carry a lot of cash in my pocket ($500 usually) but I found that the more you have in your pocket, the quicker it went. just too easy to spend it. Keep less in your pcoket and you feel like you have less. That helped mee out big time.

usually no more than $50, that's what credit cards and atms are for, much easier and keeps pocket bulge to a minimum.

I don't like to carry more than 100. When I run out, I put another 100 in.

$100 - $300 in bills. It's embarrassing pulling out balled up $20 bills in my pocket when I need to pay for something though. I need to invest in a money clip. Its interesting how much Canadians rely on Interac these days. No matter how advanced payment systems become - you still need to carry bills.
