Got in 7.3 miles yesterday afternoon. Temps in 60s but wind made it feel a lot cooler. Trying to figure out my day today but want a gym then sauna session. Digging the sauna lately at the gym.

3.5 miles on paved paths and trails with one of my dogs. The trails were really slick snow, so I kept that part short. A light snow was falling, with temps in the upper 20s.

8 miles yesterday then gym and 7 miles today. Today was misty the whole time which I wasn’t prepared for so a little colder but I made it. Was surprised by the number of people out given the weather

3300 yards swimming at lunchtime. My swim overlapped with the Boulder Aquatic Masters workout, and I was in the lane next to the fastest swimmers on the team, so I got to have an inferiority complex for 2200 yards…

6.3 miles yesterday morning and 11.6 miles on Sunday morning.

On my longer runs I've been focusing on picking out a neighborhood or two and then running every. single. road. in those neighborhoods. It's an easy way to get 10 or 15 miles in while never being more than about a mile or 3 from my starting point.

That's pretty impressive! I have no idea how wattage is actually calculated but I do know that when I go spinning, I struggle to get up above 300 watts even for just a moment or two.

3 laps in the neighborhood last night with a 50lb ruck. Temps dipped quickly so while last time I got too hot, this time I got cold. I realize I could have walked quicker but only so fast you can go with an extra 50lbs.

For the indoor workouts, the trainer knows how much resistance it’s providing and how fast you’re turning the pedals, so it calculates the wattage based on those variables. Out on the road, the most common type of power meter uses a strain gauge to measure the deflection of the crank arm or pedal axle to calculate the force you’re exerting and typically has an accelerometer or magnet/sensor to measure your cadence.
