One of my good male friends is 6'6" and is a boring dresser. Going out, he usually just wears a graphic tshirt and jeans which is fine and whatnot, but kind of young looking. He's not much into the fashion thing himself so he's finally allowing me to give him a few pointers. Alas, in trying to help him get more creative with his outfits, I'm kind of hitting a wall too. I've been scanning the WAYWT threads and while I love the looks, I honestly just cannot picture him, being as tall and muscular as he is, wearing any of them without looking like a complete tool. For example, if he were to find a great casual sportscoat for going out, it just seems like it'd be too much fabric at his height for it to look good. Am I totally mistaken here? Can extremely tall people carry off the same looks as a shorter person??? Also, maybe part of the problem is that I think his head is slightly disproportionate to his body (ie. he's really buff so his head looks small). Anyway, let me know if you have suggestions I might pass along. Photos would be great

Y are mistaken- if anything though, it's critical he get a really good fit. And he's not going to find mch off the rack.

I've a good friend who's six six and gets his suits made to measure. He looks outstanding. But if his suit were ill-fitting, it'd be just that much more to notice.

The best fit maximizes what a person has and diminishes what he does not.

What does he weigh? I'm 6 4 245lbs & would recommend you start him out softly with a nice linen suit. The jacket can also be worn separately.

Look, there's one for sale in my sig!

Ah Cary, I think you're probably right.. with the exception of the part where I think his head is slightly disproportional. Anyway, I'll definitely encourage him to find a good tailor.

Big Bris--he's 220lb and like <5% body fat I think. (I know his exact weight because he's quite vocal abt being the "metric" man... 2m and 100kg. hah.) Also, while a linen suit is a classic, I can already imagine him recoiling as he hates all shades of khaki. Baby steps!

I'm 6'6" and about 230lbs right now. Tailorstore has been awesome for getting shirts that fit. I haven't tried their polos yet, but I love the dress shirts. Ebay is great for shoes. Is there anyhting specific you're looking for?

Also, if his proportions are pretty normal, there's no reason he can't look good in the same things shorter people look good in. His tiny head might throw things off, but it's hard to say without pics...
