Now that I am completely banned from London Lounge, I have no where to ask about "heaviest fabric." So I ask you, where can I find super-heavy Moorhouse and Brook-type fabric, Brora-type tweed, etc? Any ideas? I looked at a well-known eBay sellar and he had nothing. I am going to write David Graham at Smith but I wondered if there were other known sources.

Also, I am sure this has been discussed and I apologize, but what is the most available compendium of Apparel Arts illustrations? There appears to be one book no longer published that sells for $1000 on Amazon UK. Is there something more accessible?

This post baffles me. As an ex-member, banned from the London Lounge, you are actually eligible for a place of honor on the Island. Why would you even bother getting your feet muddy here when you can post with pride there. Not that I'm complaining. Your willingness to post here is kind of like Michael Jordan showing up to play in a neighborhood pickup game. Sure, we are outclassed, but at least we can bask in the light of your banned glory. Late Edit: Greetings and best wishes to all my friends:

For heavy brora type tweed, you know you can get it directly from Lovat mill, also check out stuff from Islay mills, Harrisons, and Bateman. There are quite a few who will sell directly to you.

Some really nice, durable tweed type cashmere that feels soft (but not ultrasoft/delicate), check out Johnsons. There is another mill that makes really wonderful durable cashmere, but I can't recall the name just now.

Johnsons or Johnstons?

It's good to know the Bresch is back in town.

David,

The London Lounge seems to be offering a new heavy tweed sales program. I am sure that if you decided to partake, you would be let back in.

Life is all about compromise. Haven't you read the sexual compatibility thread? Here we are givers and compromisers.

Friday night he'll be dressed to kill
Down at Alden's bar and grill
The LL Olive Oil will flow and tweed will spill
And if the Bresch wants to fight, you'd better let him
