I have been looking at a pair of Harris Executive shoes. They look like great shoes. Hand made, brass tacking on the heels and sole tips. I tried their web site but it is Italian. Tried emailing them but no response. Anyone know anything about this company? Pricing? Here is link to their site. http://www.calzoleriaharris.com/

A Harris, why have you never told us about that side-line of yours?

I had a pair of Harris shoes once - Barneys used to sell them (maybe they still do, I don't know.) They were very well made. They are massive and very heavy - not the thing if you are trying to make your foot look smaller. The soles on my pair looked like they would go FOREVER. I decided they made my foot look to big so I sold them before I ever wore them:

I think they run about $550 a pair but I'm not sure.

Barney's is still selling them.  They have two kinds, one that has heavy single or double welt, and one that has concealed single welt that they wish to make it look English.  I am not a fan of the first kind, but you should definitely consider the second model.  I first saw them in Italy for around ~US$400 - $500; Barney's sell them from $500 - $800.

They use Italian-tanned leather, medium soft, evenly dyed, shoe laces with leather coiling at the end, slight chiselled toe, quarters cut slightly higher towards the heel.

I advise picking up a pair only during sales.

A Harris. Wow. Those are the exact ones I'm looking at. (the picture). I too was concerned that they might make my foot look too big. Already a size 13. I'll have to give it a little more thought. I have first choice on them. If not, he will list them on ebay. Thank you all for the information.

If you don't buy them let me know - maybe I'll give them a second chance.
