It's right to congratulate the lakers. The league has already decided the outcome.
i dont consider the first 5 championships as belonging to Los Angeles.
it was won in Minneapolis, totally different organization and owner. im sure the Lakers still brought the hardware and paperwork with them when they moved, but shouldnt that still be considered Minneapolis' championships?
for example,
i hope not if one day Lakers move to, let say, New York, and they are now called New York Lakers. Would the city of New York claim they have 15 titles? it doesnt really make sense.
that is what i dont get about Seattle Supersonics:
they won 1 championship.
but they moved to Oklahoma. and they changed their name to Thunder.
so what happened to that championship technically? is it now considered Oklahoma's claim to 1 championship? or is it Seattle's? or is it just entirely negated?
can anyone shed any light on how the logic is thought out on this ?
