Getting pants made for an already existing jacket

Have a fresco sport coat that’s a few years old in that dark petrol blue color. Would it be possible to have a tailor make up a pair of pants in matching fabric without it looking too weird? First, I don’t know the exact fabric number, and second, is there a significant degree of color variation in different bolts so that it wouldn’t match? The jacket is in good condition so that doesn’t worry me too much.

If you don’t have the fabric number I’d say it would be impossible. In theory if you had the fabric code you could but there is a risk the different bolts have a slightly different color.
